Badalassi Carlo Belfagor is an Italian twist of the famous English Bridle Leather. Developed exclusively by A &A Crack and Badalassi Carlo.
The name is inspired from a ‘60s tv serial “The Louvre Ghost”, but also has very ancient origins. In fact, Belfagor was a divinity of some middle Eastern populations.
This article is pure vegetable tanned and dyed through with natural fatliquoring (blend of cow fat and fish oil) in a drum. Belfagor has a long tanning process, in fact the fatliquoring is made inside the drum, but also by hand with a pad and the exceeding fat quantity (always blend of cow fat and fish oil) is always removed by hand with a spatula. At the end, a wool pad is used to clean and polish the leather manually.
The white patina that characterises may come back even after the skin is completely polished. This particular and very ancient process of fatliquoring by hand is made to protect the leather from natural events such as water.
"We think it is a very particular leather that will surely be of interest to those who have the leather culture, knowledge and that love for products that stand out from the mass."
Produced by Italian tannery Badalassi Carlo. A member of the Consorzio Vera Pelle Italiana.
